Sticky: Easy Guide to Submitting Deals
For those of you who have not yet got around to posting any deals, voucher codes or freebies on the Quanti Forums, this guide should hopefully show you that it's very easy, and will of course increase your chances of winning in the forum competition, as well as possibly earning you some extra money. It is possible to find discounts, sales, deals etc. on virtually all websites, if you look around, and of course many of you may also get weekly emails from certain sites, with savings and deals listed.
Step 1: Go to one or two of your favourite shopping or services websites, have a browse around and see if you can find any special offers they might be running. For example, I went to the DFDS Ferries website (as I have used it in the past) and noticed they were running up to 40% discount on mini-cruises. Or you might see an Ebay or Amazon Daily Deal which is something being sold for a fixed price far below the Recommended Retail Price.
You might also come across special codes which can be used at the shopping basket stage on a website to give you a discount or a freebie. Please make sure with these codes that they are not specific to just you - if you've had the code in a private email, for example, it may not be valid for all of us here to use.
Even better, you may get to hear about freebies, free offers that some sites run now and again. It doesn't matter where you heard about it, just make a quick check to see that it's valid and can be used by anyone, and you can post it here.
Step 2: Go to the Quanti sub-forum site you want to post on: if you have found a discount in % or a clearance item, you need the 'Deals' one, for vouchers and codes it's, well, 'Vouchers & Codes', and for free offers it's 'Free Stuff'. While in the sub-forum, you can get a preview to see what deals by your chosen merchant have already been posted - start typing their name at the top and click 'Filter'.
Step 3: Click on the box marked 'Submit New Deal' or 'Submit New Code' or 'Add New Freebie', depending on which sub-forum you're in. You will be prompted to start typing the name of the merchant who is providing the offer, i.e typing 'ama' would give you a list of possibilities: 'Amalgam Shop' or 'amazon.co.uk' being the top two. If the merchant doesn't exist on the Quanti database, click on the bottom of the box where it says 'Can't find your merchant? Click here to add it'. You will need javascript enabled for that to work. If you do add a new merchant, once you've done it you will then need to start from Step 2 again.
Step 4: Once you've clicked 'Select' on the right merchant, a useful list will appear below of all deals submitted recently using that merchant, which should help stop you submitting a deal which has already been submitted. If you can't see your proposed addition there, then:
Step 5: Give your post a Title. For example, a 50% discount on cordless Quanti Randomisers would be titled as '50% Discount on Cordless Quanti Randomisers'. You don't need to use 'WOW' or 'L@@K' or gimmicks like that, your post will appear at the top of the forum anyway until someone else posts a deal. Posting the merchant name is also a good idea.
Step 5a (for vouchers): List the amount of discount that the voucher gives, the minimum amount you need to spend (if any) to be eligible, and the voucher code in the next boxes.
Step 6: Choose Availability: online, offline, both, or don't know. Most deals are likely to be 'online only' as we are dealing with online shops, but there are still several deals, i.e Argos, Marks and Spencer, etc. where you could also get the discount by going to the shop, i.e offline.
Step 7: Choose Category, pretty self-explanatory really, just choose the right one from the dropdown list.
Step 8: Put a brief description of what the deal is about, maybe a better idea of what the product is, i.e: 'A fully working Quanti Randomiser with a cordless option, can be programmed to ignore your own name while you're online', that kind of thing.
Step 9: Give your deal a start date (default is the date of the post) and an end date. Many deals only last a week, if so, click the calendar button by 'End Date', and choose the relevant date. If you are unsure about how long the offer lasts for, give it a month from your post date.
Step 10: Place a link to the web page with the deal if you can, this enables a button called 'View Deal' when the post is submitted, and makes life a lot easier for those wanting to find out more about the deal. A link somewhere in your post means you *may* get a little bit of commission if someone uses that link or button and makes a purchase. You can also place a link to an image of the product if you like, on the 'Deals' posts.
Step 11: Stick a couple of comma separated keyword tags to describe your deal (i.e for the above product you could use 'Quanti, Randomiser, unpredictable', this helps if people are searching the forum.
And then click 'Submit'! You're done! If you messed something up in your post, just go back and click on 'Edit' and you can redo whatever needs doing.
If you notice that one of your deals has lasted longer than you originally posted (i.e summer sale extended into autumn) you can edit your original post and change the expiry date.

Anybody can win, unless there happens to be a second entry.
