Is this instead of or as well as  hiding prizes on the forum? I'm sure some members will prefer this random method. However I'm  about all the constant changes to the terms and conditions.

This is an addition to hiding prizes for time being. We would like to avoid situations where finding, winning or generally getting small rewards causes unnecessary friction between members. I appreciate it may be a little bit confusing but we are trying to find a scheme that would attract people and give them more equal opportunities of winning prizes.
 
You are more than welcome to participate in the discussion and suggest better/other options which you may have come across somewhere else. There is one more competition in the pipeline which will be announced next week but if we find a better option(s) we may change plans.

Just out of interest,how many forum members is there and is there a member list or PM function in the pipeline.

There are about 50 forum members at the moment, most of them are unfortunately inactive. Member list option - it can be done easily, PM is already developed and should be added with the next release.
